Contraceptive Counseling at our practice in Nicosia
In our practice, we provide personalized counseling to help each woman discover the contraceptive method that best fits her. Considering your life circumstances, health factors, and personal preferences, we work towards finding a tailored solution for your family planning.
Methods
- Contraceptive - Pill. One of the most widely adopted contraception methods, it boasts high safety levels. This hormonal preparation, incorporating estrogen and progesterone (or progesterone mono), inhibits ovulation and alters the endometrium. Available in various formulations based on the types of estrogen and progesterone, it is taken daily and is generally well-tolerated.
- Copper or Hormonal Intrauterine Device (IUD). The IUD is a long-term contraceptive inserted into the uterus. The hormonal IUD provides high contraceptive security and can be removed prematurely.
- Hormonal Implant. The hormonal implant is a small, flexible plastic rod inserted under the skin of the upper arm. It continuously releases progestin and prevents ovulation. The hormonal implant offers long-term contraception for up to 3 years and can be removed anytime.
- Three-Month Injection. The three-month injection is a hormonal contraceptive method where progestin preparation is injected into the muscle every three months. It prevents ovulation and offers effective contraception for three months at a time.
- Vaginal Ring. A flexible plastic ring is self-inserted into the vagina. It continuously releases estrogen and progestin, preventing ovulation. The ring is changed weekly and provides secure contraception.
